We’re proud to present Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce with a $10,000 Super Sessions donation to support StewardMRV. This program encourages the local community to foster sustainable outdoor recreation.
Scenic beauty, a healthy environment and outdoor recreation are at the heart of why people visit and live in the Mad River Valley. During the pandemic, usage of outdoor recreation sites are at an all-time high. StewardMRV drives the resiliency of these natural areas by responding to the specific needs of each site, providing resources to landowners and proactively engaging in protecting recreation areas.
Our donation was used as a StewardMRV fundraising challenge inviting community members to donate to the organization and matching each dollar up to $10,000. The funds support important conservation initiatives including new public trash and recycling receptacles, enhanced public restroom facilities, dog waste mitigation, stronger pack in/pack out communications, encouragement of volunteerism, data collection and more. We’re happy to report that the fundraising campaign was a success, and you can see the improvements for yourself when you visit MRV trailheads and swimming holes! With StewardMRV and support from our fans, we can preserve our local natural areas and encourage outdoor recreation for future generations.
We are deeply passionate about natural resource protection, and we are thrilled to partner with an organization making a difference in our own backyard. Owners Sean and Karen Lawson have always loved spending time in the outdoors and when they’re not experiencing all nature has to offer, they can’t help but think about how to become better stewards. Sean’s career is even rooted in conservation. He worked in forestry for 15 years prior to Lawson’s Finest and is currently the Founding Naturalist Program Director at Mad River Glen.
