In memory of our friend and colleague, Dave Hammond, our September Sunshine Fund recipient is the Vermont Veterans Fund. This organization was created in 2010 to support individuals or organizations serving veterans with long-term needs, supporting homeless veterans, providing veteran transportation services, funding veterans’ service programs and recognizing veterans.

Under the guidance of the Veterans Fund committee, the Fund supports large and small programs developed by organizations and individuals designed to address veteran needs. Some of the programs the Fund has supported include housing support programs, peer-to-peer group facilitator support, veteran hospice programs, military funeral support programs and more. You can donate in our Taproom or online to support their mission and advocate for Vermont veterans.

Sunshine Fund Update

We’ve broken another Sunshine Fund record! Due to generous fan donations in our Taproom and online during August, we donated $31,822.16 to Dragonheart Vermont. This organization strengthens and empowers breast cancer survivors and supporters through the challenging sport of dragon boating. Dragonheart Vermont will use their Sunshine Fund donation to purchase a boat trailer to enable them to bring their boats from Burlington to the Waterbury Reservoir to create a new Central Vermont dragon boat team.
