On October 1st, Lawson’s Finest Liquids received the First Generation Family Enterprise award at the 10th annual UVM Grossman School of Business Family Business Award ceremony. This prestigious award is given to an exemplary start-up with multiple family members in ownership or operations. Each nominee was evaluated by an independent judging panel comprised of past winners, local business owners and alumni who examine financial success; governance structures; contributions to the community and industry; and the sustainable, innovative business strategies of every entry.
“We are so honored to receive this recognition of our family business,” said Co-Founder and CCO Karen Lawson. “Being husband and wife business owners takes lots of care and attention and I am so proud of the successful business we’ve built that supports our employees and delivers world-class beer to our fans.”
The UVM Family Business Institute is a worldwide leader in the sustainability and innovation of enterprising families. They work to pioneer family business research and education as a force of good for our planet and people. Three other winners were honored at the ceremony in the Multi-Gen Family Enterprise and Legacy Family Enterprise categories. “We extend a hearty thanks to all of the judges and University of Vermont for this recognition. We’d also like to congratulate this year‘s fellow winners of the UVM family business awards, Healthy Living, Giroux Farms, and H.N. Williams Store,” said Founding Brewer and CEO Sean Lawson.
