Pink Boots Taproom Takeover
Once a year, the ladies of Lawson’s Finest Liquids pack into the charming 7-barrel brewery in Warren, VT to join the Pink Boots Society movement. As part of our Good Brews for a Cause, an initiative within our Social Impact Program, the ladies choose the Pink Boots beer style, craft the recipe, brew the beer, create the label artwork and package the tasty suds to advocate for women in the brewing industry.
Every year, breweries and distilleries from all over the world unite to brew with a special blend of hops that celebrates the impact women have on the alcoholic and fermentable beverage industry. On Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day® , each participating brewery creates their very own Pink Boots Brew. Every beer sold helps fund Pink Boots scholarships to assist, inspire and encourage the professional development and education of women in the industry.
Every day, our Lawson’s Finest Team breaks through the male-dominated beer industry with a staff of over 50% female-identifying employees. We have so much to celebrate and this year we’re going big with a Pink Boots Taproom Takeover!
On Wednesday April 6th 4:00 – 7:00 at the Lawson’s Finest Liquids Taproom, we’re partnering with three other local breweries to host a Pink Boots Taproom Takeover. Join Lawson’s Finest Liquids, Drop In Brewing, Hogback Mountain Brewery and Kraemer & Kin as we tap our Pink Boots Brews and raise our glass to women in the industry. The Pink Boots Brew from each brewery will be on tap, side-by-side, for the first time ever! A portion of all Pink Boots Brews sale proceeds directly benefit the national Pink Boots Society.
The Pink Boots Brews
Lawson’s Finest Liquids created an English-inspired Extra Special Bitter called “Bitter Boots.” It was dreamed up and brewed exclusively by the Lawson’s Finest ladies and has malty notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee. It’s balanced by herbal and floral hops to render a slightly sweet character with a crisp, clean finish.
Drop In Brewing brewed “You Can Sit With Us” Strawberry Amber Ale. This is an American Brewers Guild Collaboration between two Pink Boots Society members: Charlotte Cook of Coalition Brewing, London, UK and Gina Sherwood of Drop-In Brewing, Middlebury, Vermont. It features a fruity caramel malt flavor, balanced with hops from Champlain Valley Hops, that lend a citrusy, floral flavor and aroma. The finish is clean and dry. It is approachable to a wide variety of palates and made for everyone.
Hogback Mountain Brewery is a hyper-local brewery in Bristol, Vermont. Their beer, “MOMsplaining” White IPA, embraces the true meaning of local supporting local. The beer features Vermont-grown wheat and is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain. The late-hop-additions and dry-hopping allow the Pink Boots Blend of hops to shine.
Kraemer & Kin, located in Grand Isle, Vermont, takes inspiration from the natural world. Their “Spicy Golden Ale” celebrates women-owned business. They collaborated with Ariel’s Honey Infusions to brew a malty, complex, pepper-infused honey beer. This smooth and sophisticated beer is slightly bready with notes of caramel. As the body of the beer slips away, a twinge of spice and heat envelopes the tongue but does not linger — reminding us to enjoy each moment.
Try all these amazing brews and support a great cause at our Pink Boots Taproom Takeover April 6th 4:00 – 7:00!
