Each Good Brews for a Cause beer is brewed to benefit a nonprofit organization with a tie to the local community in our distribution territory.
Sean Lawson and our Brewing Team creates special collaboration beers to support causes that are important to us including conservation and sustainable recreation efforts in Vermont, economic vitality and social justice. A portion of the beer sales are donated directly to organizations. Here are a few examples:
Deaf Glow IPA
Deaf Glow was created to benefit the Vermont Association of the Deaf and their support of the Yolande Henry Community Foundation, which provides interpretive services that are not covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Vermont Strong
Vermont Strong is a benefit brew in support of the many friends and neighbors who have been affected by the catastrophic floods of Summer 2023. This project was created to support the Vermont Community Foundation and their efforts to help our brave little state respond, recover, and build back even stronger.
Path of Totality
To commemorate 2024’s total solar eclipse, we brewed Path of Totality which supported the ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain: Vermont’s science and nature museum on the Burlington Waterfront.
Brewtifully Bold
2024 Pink Boots Brew. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Pink Boots Society, which supports women and non-binary individuals in the brewing industry.
Change in the Air
A portion of proceeds benefits the Change in The Air Foundation and their work creating a more safe, inclusive beer industry while making education more accessible to Black and Brown brewers.
Brave Little State Pale Ale
Brave Little State Pale Ale is a Vermont-grown beer brewed in collaboration with Vermont Public Radio to celebrate the Brave Little State podcast. The Vermont-grown ingredients inside each can embody the incredible spirit of the Green Mountain State and VPR.
Kingdom Trails IPA
Supports Kingdom Trails Association to help preserve trails in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.
Brave Noise Pale Ale
Brewed to help end sexism in the brewing industry and beyond by donating 100% of all sales to VT Network’s Uplift VT program, an organization working to eliminate sexual and domestic violence in Vermont.
Things We Don’t Say IPA
Working to end the stigma surrounding mental health by supporting Hope for a Day and Washington County Mental Health Services
Sisterhood Sour
Benefitted the Pink Boots Society, an organization advocating for women in the brewing industry.
Bit O’ Balsam IPA
Helped fund the Mountain Birdwatch, a citizen science program through the Vermont Center for Ecostudies that gathers data about the endangered Bicknell’s Thrush and supports conservation efforts.
Black is Beautiful
A collaborative effort among the brewing community and its customers launched by Weathered Souls Brewing Co. in an attempt to bring awareness to the injustices that people of color face daily. We stand with over 1,000 breweries in 20 countries working to affect change in our industry and beyond through the collaborative creation of this special beer. We donated 100% of the Black is Beautiful beer sale profits to the VT Peace & Justice Center Racial Justice program, Allied Vermont and The Root Social Justice Center for a total donation of $3,457.
Powdah Day IPA
Brewed exclusively for Sugarbush Resort to raise funds for Protect Our Winters, a nonprofit that focused on legislation regarding climate change.
Castlerock IPA
Brewed exclusively for Sugarbush Resort to raise funds for Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports to help them empower individuals with disabilities and Protect Our Winters – an organization working to end climate change.
Still Single IPA
Brewed exclusively for Mad River Glen to benefit the Stark Mountain Foundation, which preserves and protects the environment and ecosystem of General Stark Mountain.
Summit Sour & Bitter Boots
Beer collaborations by the female staff of Lawson’s Finest to raise money for The Pink Boots Society, which assists, inspires, and encourages female-identifying beer professionals through education.
98 Degrees in the Shade
A collaboration with our friends at Big Spruce Brewing to benefit Frontline Foods VT, an organization that works with area restaurants to provide free meals to frontline healthcare workers during the pandemic. Our donation of over $4,000 represented 100% of the profits.
Phirst Light IPA
The collaborative brainchild of Lawson’s Finest and Upper Pass Beer benefitted the VT Brewers Association, which serves to promote and strengthen the culture of craft brewing in Vermont through marketing, education and advocacy.
