With International Women’s Day around the corner, we are celebrating with a special limited release beer from the women of Lawson’s Finest. As members of the Pink Boots Society, we are empowered to demonstrate what women and non-binary individuals in the alcohol industry can do.
Pink Boots Society
The Pink Boots Society is an organization that “aims to assist, inspire and encourage women and non-binary individuals in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry to advance their careers through education.”
Collaboration Brew Day
Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day is a celebration of the women and non-binary individuals within the industry. All participating breweries develop a unique recipe with the selected Pink Boots hop blend. This year’s hops are Loral, Ekuanot, and HBC 586.
A Brew of Their Own
For our 2023 Pink Boots beer, the women of Lawson’s Finest brewed a Cold IPA. While our beer is always kept cold, the style Cold IPA has nothing to do with the temperature. This is an up and coming style that crosses a traditional IPA with a light Lager.
Here a few things that make this style unique.
- A light malt build like a Pilsner.
- Lager yeast but fermented warm like an Ale.
- Dry hopping after fermentation.
Blooming Boots, our Cold IPA, has floral and citrusy notes and a beautiful golden color. For the first time ever, our Pink Boots beer will be available throughout Vermont! A portion of the proceeds from Blooming Boots benefits Pink Boots Society scholarships.
