Beer Releases
We’re starting and ending the month of February with some tasty brews!
Saturday, February 1st our Fayston Maple Chocolate Tart Cherry Imperial Stout will be available in 22oz. bottles in our retail store and on draft at our taproom. This rich and decadent stout – brewed with loads of dark malts and a hefty dose of Vermont maple syrup, then fermented with Montmorency tart cherry juice and cacao – features notes of dark fruit and chocolate and is perfect for sipping and pairing.
Saturday, February 29th Sugarhouse IPA is back! This IPA was inspired by the first recipe crafted in 2008 at our home-based nanobrewery in Warren, VT. This hop-forward American IPA celebrates the “Sugarhouse Brewery” that is now our Wizard’s Workshop used for experiments and taproom-only specials. This continually evolving recipe provides an opportunity to experiment with different combinations of hops and malts to create a delightful American IPA. You can expect a notable fruitiness, a delicate haze and soft bitterness in this latest release.
Still Single IPA is a Mad River Glen exclusive beer and is now available for you to enjoy this winter season at General Stark’s Pub. Brewed with Centennial, Cascade and Mosaic hops, Still Single IPA features notes of lemon, lime, and pine. It is sure to quench your thirst after a day on the mountain!
Steve’s Back Yard Red Ale will be brewed at our original brewery in Warren, VT on February 5th! This ale was our first collaboration brewed in Warren, VT with local homebrewer Steve Robbins. With his talented use of specialty malts, a fine blend of hops and a generous dose of Green Mountain attitude, it’s truly a special beer. Keep an eye on our social media platforms for the official release date.
The ladies of Lawson’s Finest are brewing a dry-hopped sour beer for the Pink Boots Society Collaboration Brew Day. The Pink Boots Society supports women in the brewing industry via scholarships and education, and $1 from every bottle and draft pour sold of this beer will be donated to support their efforts. The beer is due to be released in March and we will be documenting the experience along the way. Check back to join us on this endeavor!

Charitable Giving Program
Lawson’s Finest has chosen to pay our staff living wages and generous benefits. There is no tip obligation in the taproom. However, if guests choose to leave a donation, 100% will be given to local charitable endeavors through our Sunshine Fund.
Since we opened our Waitsfield brewery, taproom and retail store in October 2018, taproom guests have generously donated over $400,000 to more than 36 Vermont-based non-profit organizations!
February 1st-15th our taproom donations will be given to Good Beginnings of Central Vermont. Their mission is to bring community to families and their babies. Anyone caring for a new baby in Washington County is eligible for their Postpartum Angel service, early parenting workshops, babywearing support and more.
February 16th-29th our taproom donations will be given to Capstone Community Action’s “Fuel Your Neighbors” program which provides emergency food and heat to Central Vermont families in need this winter.
Lawson’s Finest Liquids invites individuals to apply to the Lawson’s Finest Super Sessions initiative to Show Up, Innovate & Play! This is the spirit we bring to everything we do – it’s how we brew our beer, do our work, relate to each other and try to make the world better. As part of our Social Impact Program, we aim to build impactful connections and strengthen communities while creating memorable experiences.
In that spirit, we are offering pint-sized grants for playful Super Sessions to bring people together in fun ways that build community anywhere Lawson’s Finest is distributed. For example, a group could organize a synchronized cannonball jump in the town pond to raise money for cancer research, or sponsor a bike parade and cook-out to honor local school teachers. Check here for more examples of events in the Super Sessions spirit.
Four times each year, our employee-run Super Session Selection Squad will choose projects to each receive up to a $250 check that will launch a Super Session. There are four application deadlines per year in February, May, August and November. Applications will be scored on several criteria including innovation, community-building, fun, and credibility.
The first open application period begins this Saturday, February 1st and applications are due by 5PM on February 29, 2020. Applications can be accessed at www.lawsonsfinest.com/supersessions.
